T-Mobile G1 Android device – Google iPhone ( not )

By Dino Delellis
This was one of the first looks at the new HTC cell phone being sold by T-Mobile. It is probably not fair to compare it to the iPhone and or the Blackberry Storm, but being human we sometimes can’t help but compare something new to something having the kind of buzz that the iPhone has created.

Physically, the phone appears to be a bit narrower than the iPhone when they were placed side by side and the phone is a little longer and thicker. It’s thickness is because inherently this is a clamshell type phone, which i am not partial to myself, but so be it…

One interesting thing you will note is that one must have a google account before or during the initial configuration of the phone. What a way to build a list Google!

This phone has an amazon store app built in to perhaps partially counteract the pretty astounding effect that the iPhone store app is having on the overall thinking of the entire electronic world.

It also has an airplane mode for you frequent travellers. There is also no automatic brightness setting.

The Android G1 has the ability, as expected to sync to the gmail and other google documents like the calendar.

And because we know that you like your female Androids so much.

Totally unrelated android from japan. Have a good laugh or not … she is almost kind of sexy in a robotic way, right?
